Maintenance Controller
? A Maintenance Controller is a person experienced enough to make maintenance related
decisions concerning aircraft that are operating away from the maintenance base.
? Requirements/Qualifications
- Hold a current airman certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
- Possess a working knowledge of company and aircraft maintenance manuals.
- Have completed Indoctrination training.
- Have at least three years documented experience performing maintenance on large aircraft.
- Have completed a familiarization training course on the type of aircraft operated by the company.
- Have previous aircraft maintenance supervisor experience.
? Duties/Responsibilities
- Coordinates and directs mechanics to resolve any maintenance discrepancies and ensure that the aircraft are in an airworthy and safe condition.
- On a daily basis, the Maintenance Controller shall provide Flight Following with the status of aircraft in service, including MEL/CDL items for flight planning purposes and flight crew information.
- Coordinates with the Stores Department to ensure that any parts requirements are fulfilled.
- Issues and controls tracking numbers and monitors correction of MEL/CDL/CO items.
- Coordinates maintenance requirements in conjunction with special flight permit procedures as outlined in the GMM.
- Maintains a detailed Shift Log and other paperwork as required by management.
- Assists Maintenance Planning for the scheduling and compliance of daily maintenance and/or inspection requirements.
- Reviews Aircraft Daily Log Sheets in order to become familiar with service history.
